Meet Our Team

Dr. Gayle Karanges earned her Doctorate in Optometry in 1985, graduating from the University of Houston with honors.  She also completed postgraduate studies in ocular therapeutics including the management of LASIK and Glaucoma.  She began her practice in Arlington in 1988 and is a member of the American Optometric Society and the Texas Optometric Society.  Dr. Karanges also serves on the executive board of 1st Eye Care, Inc. and is a past president of 1st Eye Care.

Dr. Karanges is actively involved in raising and showing Quarter Horses and enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters, Kelsey and Karli.

Dr. Hoa Nguyen received her bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2006. Dr. Nguyen is currently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and board certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.

Dr. Nguyen has training in treating ocular diseases, providing essential eye care for children, fitting specialty contact lenses and co-managing pediatrics, and low vision rehabilitation at Baylor in Houston. She is a member of the Dallas County Optometric Society and Tarrant County Optometric Society.

In her spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys bowling, traveling, rock climbing and a trying a variety of different foods with her husband Jaime Gonzalez, who is also an Optometrist.
